The brief
East Konge Road is a vital feeder route serving residential neighbourhoods and small commercial enterprises in Makindye. The project entailed upgrading 1.8 kilometres from a deteriorated gravel road to an all-weather paved standard.

- 300mm granular sub-base & base
- 50mm asphalt concrete
- Box culverts & side drains (1.2 km)

A notable achievement was the successful management of steep gradients and unstable soil conditions through geotechnical analysis and the use of imported fill materials.
The project also incorporated speed calming measures (road humps) and pedestrian crossing points. Local residents have reported a dramatic reduction in dust and vehicle damage since completion.
